Life is good in Colorado! Sending the best to all my COM 2003 peeps!

JASON CRAWFORD, MD, MPH, Class of 2004

My son Keman just turned 13 and is the first teenager in the Crawford household. In April 2015, I became Chief Medical Officer for Community Health Alliance, a group of federally-qualified health centers, serving the Reno, NV area. I was also very excited to see my former classmates Julio Garcia, MD, and Tristan Dow, MD, and their wives Lisa Garcia and Chelsea Dow last month for a great vacation at Lake Tahoe!

Bill (class of 1977) and Cherry DonnaBILL CHERRY, MD, Class of 1977

Hi all. Donna and I have lived in Murrieta, CA for the past 13 years. I have a family medicine clinic where I employ a physician and a nurse practitioner. I quit seeing patients approximately ten years ago due to health problems. I work as a medical director for an IPA in the area. We have four kids and nine grandkids. My oldest son is an allergist-immunologist and practices in Riverside, CA. My daughter has one more year to finish her BSN. (I hope she will put it to immediate use and get off my payroll.) Next son is a PhD, JD and works as patent attorney in Alexandria, VA. Our last son is our left-brained kid. He’s a rocker and a recording engineer, but works days as a park ranger in Idyllwild, CA. Donna and I are in fair heath and do volunteer work. Hope this finds all my 1977 classmates well and happy in their lives.

Best wishes to you all!

LI SCHMIDT, MD, Class of 1998

Discovering how to parent two half-Chinese, half-Caucasian teens in American culture. Stay tuned!

Take care, Li

Tyler Maley, MD, class of 2013TYLER MALEY, MD, Class of 2013

I am currently a PGY-3 dermatology resident at University of California - Irvine. Although it's hard to stay in touch after scattering to every corner of the country for residency, last year I took a couple weeks of vacation to re-connect with some of my best friends from medical school, including Mark Godfrey, Steve Horras, Adam Luber, Chris Murphy, Adeel and Laurel Yang. I also caught up with Nicole Fernandez (USC-Derm) and Mary Teeple (Brown-Derm) at an annual dermatology conference in March. Ultimately, I was glad to find the bonds we developed in medical school are still strong despite our infrequent communications!

Serena Jain Scott, MD, class of 2011, and Aaron Scott, MD, class of 2010SERENA JAIN SCOTT, MD, Class of 2011

Hello! Aaron Scott, Class of 2010, and I, Class of 2011, met in medical school and got married in 2013. Go Cats! We live in Denver, Colorado. I am working as a hospitalist at the University of Colorado and Aaron is finishing his fellowship in hematology/oncology also at the University of Colorado. Here’s a photo from our wedding which was in Tucson, Arizona, and one from the 2014 Pac-12 tournament cheering on the Cats!

KEVIN MOYNAHAN, MD, Class of 1993

Hey classmates from 1993 and all our alumni! I’ve been incredibly privileged to have been Deputy Dean for Education for the past six years at the UA College of Medicine, overseeing admissions, student affairs, undergraduate medical education and graduate medical education. My professional passions remain teaching and patient care. I continue to direct our learning communities program for medical student mentorship and clinical skills training. I was recently promoted to full professor, which caused me to reflect on how long I have been doing this. I am completely committed to the UA COM!

Martha is enjoying her part-time practice in pediatrics. Recently, she has taken up showing dogs, and as such we now have two Pharaoh hounds. They are interesting dogs to say the least.

Our children are all grown up. Our youngest, Kevin (how original!), is applying to medical school this year after a year of being the manager at a gym that works with Parkinson’s disease patients. Our middle child, Sarah, continues to teach and perform ballet while going to college. Our oldest, Laura, married three years ago and we are now proud grandparents as of July! Laura was a “genius” at Apple, but has (at least for the time being) “retired” to care for her new son. We are very proud parents and (gulp!) grandparents!

Best wishes for the holidays.
