Message from the Alumni Board President

Dear College of Medicine Alumni,

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I am serving as president of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson Alumni Board. Throughout my thirty-some years of medical practice, I have often reflected, with great appreciation, upon the education I received from the College of Medicine – an education that provided me with the strongest possible foundation for the successful and fulfilling career in medicine that I still enjoy today.

For many years I felt a strong internal pull to give back. A year or so ago I chanced upon an online request from the Alumni Board for new members, took the opportunity to join, and was warmly welcomed into the group.  I didn’t expect to serve as the board president, but when I was nominated in February, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to work with a dedicated group of alums, students, faculty and staff members charged with growing and enhancing the UA College of Medicine alumni programs.

Our Office of Alumni Affairs is a vital source of learning, connection, inspiration and enjoyment as we advance through our careers and into retirement. We are part of an extraordinary network of people connected with the College of Medicine. This is a formative time for our alumni program, and we have the opportunity to build stronger relationships of mutual benefit to each other and the College.

I invite you to stay connected! There are many opportunities for involvement, such as participating in events, volunteering, and staying in touch through our e-newsletters and Facebook page.

I welcome your thoughts, reflections and ideas as we move forward. Please feel free to contact me at ecdrobny@sbcglobal.net or (414) 226-4010. You can also reach me by contacting the Office of Alumni Affairs.  I sincerely look forward to hearing from you.

As the late Bob Marley simply and eloquently professed, “In this bright future you can’t forget your past.”

Warm regards,
Elaine Drobny, MD
