The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix is a full, four-year program that was dedicated in October 2006. It is an expansion to downtown Phoenix of the UA College of Medicine program begun in 1992, which offered third- and fourth-year medical students the opportunity to complete their training at Phoenix-area hospitals. The Phoenix program takes its place in renovated historic buildings on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus in downtown Phoenix. The campus is also home to the UA College of Pharmacy, Arizona State University Department of Biomedical Informatics, Northern Arizona University Allied Health programs and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). The campus is near the ASU College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation and School of Social Work, as well as the other ASU Downtown academic programs.
Designed to broaden the student’s experience and exposure to the diverse patient population in the nation’s 5th largest city, our students will rotate through any number of the following institutions during their tenure as a medical student: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Maricopa Integrated Health System, Carl T Hayden Veterans Affairs Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Barrow Neurological Institute, Mayo Clinic, Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Scottsdale Healthcare.
The Office of Admissions and Recruitment produces a Housing Guide, distributed quarterly. If you have a property to list, please contact us by email at COMPHX-Admissions@email.arizona.edu. General transportation information can be found within the guide as well.
