Frequently asked questions:

1. Who can use the CHS satellite clinic?

Students enrolled in degree programs within the UA Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

2. Do you need insurance to be seen at the CHS satellite clinic?

No, you don’t need to have insurance to be seen at the satellite clinic or the main CHS. If you are covered by the UA Atena insurance plan, then you may use either the satellite clinic at the AHSC or the main CHS. If you use another insurance provider, then an itemized bill can be requested that you may submit it to your carrier.

3. What is the cost to be seen at the CHS clinic?

There is a $15 co-pay for all primary care visits at CHS if you have the Campus Atena insurance. For all other insurances it is a $20 (both the main CHS and the satellite clinic at the AHSC). Additional charges are incurred for procedures, physicals and any treatments delivered while in the clinic (i.e., nebulizer treatments, IV fluids, etc.).

4. Do I need to make an appointment to be seen at the CHS satellite clinic?

It is preferred that you call and make an appointment. Same-day appointments usually are available for acute problems. If you walk into the clinic without an appointment, you’ll be seen based on the acuity of the problem and the existing schedule.

5. How do I make an appointment?

Call the main CHS phone number for appointments, 621-6490. Tell them you would like to be seen at the AHSC Satellite Clinic

6. Are my medical records confidential?

Yes. Your records are handled under the same strict rules of confidentiality as all medical records within the CHS. Records are not available or shared with the administration of any of the colleges. A student’s medical records can be released only with their written consent.
