Our Mission
The Office of Student Development’s mission is to help provide educational support in a structured environment in order to help students achieve their educational goals. Using an approach grounded in educational theory, Student Development specialists provide students with skills and strategies necessary for success in the curriculum and on high stakes exams such as the USMLE. Student Development works with faculty and students helping all parties involved in the curriculum to understand and support the educational needs of the students. Student Development also assists faculty to understand effective learning strategies and develop teaching resources to support and maximize student learning. The types of support that Student Development provides is constantly adapting to incorporate new understanding of teaching and learning needs of the students and medical education.

The Office of Student Development strives to address four main areas which include academic support, curricular support, faculty development and research.

Individual student support for refining study skills and study schedule management
Individual and group support for content specific study and test-taking strategies
Individual and group support for USMLE Step 1 & 2
Residency application support – curriculum vitae and personal statements
