About The College

Giving Opportunities

To maintain the College of Medicine’s tradition of excellence, we must provide the financial support necessary to offer the best training possible, recruit exceptional faculty talent and enable groundbreaking research and clinical care. The need for support from individuals, foundations and corporations is greater than ever before as government funding continues to decline. Please see giving opportunities below:

Medical Student Support

General Medical Student Scholarships

These scholarships enable us to support our medical students financially, helping to reduce their student loan debt burden. These scholarships also allow us to recruit and retain the most promising students and give us flexibility in determining who receives the support.

Commitment to Underserverd People (CUP) Program

These funds go to support the operation of the CUP Clinics at the College of Medicine - Tucson. The CUP program provides students the opportunity to enhance their clinical and teaching skills by working with medically underserved populations. CUP helps medical students learn about community service and gives students insight into how socioeconomic and cultural factors impact health and access to health care.

Class of 2025 White Coat Scholarship Campaign

These funds will support incoming medical students by providing the gift of a white coat and stethoscope to start them on their journey of becoming a physician. Our goal is to provide each of the 120 incoming students with a white coat and stethoscope.

Research and Faculty Support

COVID-19: Prevention, Detection and Treatment Research

Support research into solutions for this global health crisis.

Dean’s Fund for Excellence

These unrestricted funds assist the dean in leading the College of Medicine and provide the needed flexibility to reach new heights. Areas of use include but are not limited to faculty support, student support, research projects and programs.

General Medical Research

These funds are used for cutting edge research within the College of Medicine to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in all areas of medicine. Faculty members work to improve people’s health through research that spans from the molecular level to patient care to the health of populations.
