Class of 2020 Convocation

Are you ready to graduate?

When: Ceremony: Thursday, May 14, 2020, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM  

Rehearsal: Thursday, May 14, 2020, from 8:00 - 9:30 AM

Where: Centennial Hall, Main Campus

Convocation at The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is a time of celebration for our students, their families and friends, and our faculty and staff. Convocation is a time-honored tradition that celebrates each student and serves as a commemoration of your life at the College of Medicine. Tickets are required for this event and will be distributed to students at the Senior Awards Ceremony on the morning of May 14th, and will also be available at the box office on the afternoon of the event. There is no charge for tickets or restrictions on the number of guests a student may invite.

Green Initiatives

Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles in order to cut down on waste. The University is committed to global sustainability efforts and clearly-marked recycling bins will be provided on the campus grounds during the Convocation ceremony. Following the event, please deposit unwanted plastic bottles or paper products (including programs), in these containers.


At the ceremony, a professional photographer will photograph each graduate as they are hooded. These complimentary photos will be available free of charge for graduates to download within one week of the ceremony.

Post-ceremony reception

Immediately following convocation, the graduates and guests are invited to attend the reception on the plaza in front of Centennial Hall

COM Photobackdrop

On the lawn in front of the Arizona Museum, directly across the street from will be a College of Medicine photo backdrop and complimentary professional photographers for you and your family and friends to utilize for graduation photos.

  • Centennial Hall doors will open at 6:00 PM
  • The Processional begins promptly at 7:00 PM; guests are asked to find their seats before then
  • Arrive one hour in advance of the ceremony to allow enough time to for security bag-check, and to park and get to the event location before the processional begins at 7:00 PM
  • Bring your camera so you can take advantage of the College of Medicine photo booth
