Class of 2023 Convocation

Are you ready to graduate?

When: Ceremony: Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2 PM

Convocation at The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is a time of celebration for our students, their families and friends, and our faculty and staff. Convocation is a time-honored tradition that celebrates each student and serves as a commemoration of your life at the College of Medicine. Tickets are required for this event and will be distributed to students the week of Convocation and will also be available at the box office on the afternoon of the event. There is no charge for tickets or restrictions on the number of guests a student may invite.

EVENT HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
To protect the health and safety of attendees, it is expected that all event participants have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, or tested negative within the 72 hours prior to the event. This expectation is necessary to ensure the safety of all those attending. Face coverings are recommended in all indoor spaces on the University of Arizona campus.

Land Acknowledgment

We respectfully acknowledge the University of Arizona is on the land and territories of Indigenous peoples. Today, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes, with Tucson being home to the O’odham and the Yaqui. Green Initiatives

Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles in order to cut down on waste. The University is committed to global sustainability efforts and clearly-marked recycling bins will be provided on the campus grounds during the Convocation ceremony. Following the event, please deposit unwanted plastic bottles or paper products (including programs), in these containers.

Photographs

At the ceremony, a professional photographer will photograph each graduate as they are hooded. These complimentary photos will be available free of charge for graduates to download and graduates will be notified when ready.

  • Centennial Hall doors will open at 1:00 PM
  • The Processional begins promptly at 2:00 PM; guests are asked to find their seats before then.
  • Guests should arrive one hour in advance of the ceremony to allow enough time to for security bag-check, and to park and get to the event location before the processional begins at 2:00 PM. Students will be asked to check in by 1:15 PM.
  • The ceremony will conclude by 4:00 PM
