College of Medicine – Tucson Launches Scholarship Program for Residents and Fellows

The College of Medicine – Tucson is launching a new scholarship program for residents and fellows enrolled in any of its Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs.

Named the Dean’s Fellow Scholarship, the program is intended to assist physicians who are pursuing educational coursework in addition to their residency training. Awardees can receive up to $5,000 per year.

Applicants must be employed by Banner Health part-time (.5 FTE or more) and pursuing coursework (online or traditional) at the University of Arizona. Their employment must be expected to continue for six months or more at the time of application.

The Dean’s Fellow Scholarship is a competitive scholarship. Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled in UA Health Sciences courses that are directly aligned with their professional career goals. Applicants will be asked to describe how the course(s) will further their career goals.

The first cohort of Dean’s Fellows will be selected in August and funding will be applied directly to the awardees’ Fall 2019 tuition.

The deadline to apply for the Dean’s Fellow Scholarship Program is August 2. Application packets can be downloaded here. For more information about the application process, contact Lauren Erdelyi at
