American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) will be hosting our annual Women in Medicine panel featuring physicians from Women in Academic Medicine (WAM) on Wednesday, August 12th at 6pm and we would like to invite everyone to join us! UA-COMT MedPride is preparing to launch a curriculum enrichment project and is inviting the community and current/incoming medical students to join us in the discussion of better including LGBTQIA+ health in our medical education. For our second session, we will continue summarizing articles and general themes of care for members of our LGBTQIA+ community that we want to see represented in our curriculum.

Last week, 14 people discussed the ethical issues related to graduating medical students early. Our pre-discussion poll revealed a 50/50 split of yes/no to whether we should; our post-discussion poll revealed 40% yes and 60% no, but had fewer respondents total. Comments stressed the importance of the voluntary nature of early graduation. As of 4/13, 10 UA MS4s have started residency early. Thank you for your feedback and your participation!
