About the Speaker
Bekir Tanriover, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., F.A.S.T. is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology at University Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Director of Solid Organ Transplant Outcomes Research. After receiving his medical degree from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, Dr. Tanriover completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Tulane University, a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Alabama, and a fellowship in renal transplantation at Vanderbilt University. He later completed a master’s degree in public health at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in the “Cost Effectiveness and Outcomes” tract. He also received the Healthcare Management Executive M.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Tanriover’s research focuses on analysis of medical and financial outcomes of kidney transplant patients, cost-effectiveness of immunosuppression, dual organ allocation, predictive models and decision tools using AI and Markov models, and transplant physician and surgeon compensation.
