Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the unique aspects of psychological and physiological benzodiazepine dependence.
  • Define benzodiazepine-induced neurologic dysfunction.
  • Compare strategies and special considerations for the clinical management of benzodiazepine use disorder.
  • Summarize the pharmacologic and structural challenges of treating polysubstance dependence involving benzodiazepines. 

The educational objective of the Addiction Medicine Grand Rounds is to provide health professionals with updates on addiction topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence and patient care. The Addiction Medicine Lecture series is held monthly on a Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m.
