Richard E. Pratley, MD
Dr. Pratley is the Samuel E. Crockett Chair in Diabetes Research and medical director of the AdventHealth Diabetes Institute in Orlando, Florida. He also serves as senior investigator and Diabetes Program lead at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute and is an adjunct professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Pratley, an internationally recognized expert in diabetes, has authored more than 450 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board of the journal Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism. His research focuses on diabetes prevention, care of older adults with diabetes and the development of novel therapies targeting cardiometabolic disease. In 2024, he was the recipient of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Outstanding National Clinician Award.
