About the Speaker
Dr. Morse is the chief medical officer of the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, where she leads efforts to bridge public health and health care to advance health equity across New York City. She previously served as deputy commissioner for the New York Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness.
Dr. Morse, an internal medicine and public health physician, continues to practice as a part-time hospitalist at Kings County Hospital, is a co-founder of EqualHealth and its Social Medicine Consortium, and is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. Her work is grounded in social medicine, global solidarity and anti-racism. Her leadership roles also include serving as deputy chief medical officer of Partners In Health, as a Soros Equality Fellow launching a global Campaign Against Racism, and as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy fellow with the Ways and Means Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In 2024, she was named a TIME100 Next list honoree, which highlights emerging leaders shaping the future in business, entertainment, sports and other fields.
