We are making significant progress in our search for the next dean of the UA College of Medicine – Tucson. The job description and recruitment materials have been finalized.  (Click here to view the job description.)

We’ve received inquiries about and nominations for the position that include a number of diverse and highly-qualified candidates. Our partners in this effort, Russell Reynolds Associates, are reaching out to these individuals to determine their capabilities and organizational fit.  Recruitment ads have been posted on key sites, including the Chronicle of Higher Education, Hispanic Outlook, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, and Science, and the search firm is actively pursuing additional candidates for this critical leadership position.  If you are interested in applying or nominating someone, please contact Russell Reynolds Associates at

This process will continue for the next four to six weeks. In early November, we will identify a short list of candidates to move forward; those who the search committee determines can best  lead the college across all missions, from education and research to clinical partnerships and donor engagement.

This is an exciting time for the college and health sciences. We’ll keep you updated as this search continues.  As always, thank you for your continued support.
Together, we will lead the future of medicine.
