Jason Marr, CPA, has been named the new assistant dean of the Financial Affairs Office at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, effective Monday, March 23, 2020.
Marr is a proud alumnus of UArizona who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Eller College of Management. His experience includes more than a decade of financial reporting, including eight years in the health care industry.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, Marr went on to work at the accounting firm BeachFleischman PC, one of the largest independently owned accounting firms in the Southwest. He joined the Banner – University Medical Group in 2012 as a senior accountant and quickly climbed the ranks. Today, he is the senior director of finance, which entails directing key financial processes; establishing systems to monitor financial performance; assuring adherence to financial policies; and more.
As the new assistant dean, Marr will oversee fiscal compliance; financial analyses; and the evaluation, planning and reporting of administrative units. He will also oversee and monitor the college’s expenditures, including state funding, grants and endowments.
Marr is replacing Pam Ray, MBA, who was recently named the new assistant vice president of financial affairs at the University of Arizona Health Sciences. Please join the College of Medicine – Tucson in congratulating Ray on her new position and welcoming Marr.
