David Bruzzese and LaToya Singletary join College of Medicine - Tucson

David Bruzzese, MBA, and LaToya Singletary will be joining the College of Medicine – Tucson (COM-T) as the new Executive Director, Brand Communications and Senior Director of Development, effective Tuesday, June 1, 2021. 
Mr. Bruzzese will serve on COM-T's senior leadership team and will foster effective communication between the COM-T and its students, employees, alumni, potential recruits, and the public in order to advance the college’s strategic vision and increase competitive advantage. Mr. Bruzzese will work closely with COM-T department chairs, center directors and their respective communicators, as well as with UAHS, University Marketing and Communications, Banner University Medicine, and VA communications leaders, to identify and execute aligned content opportunities to extend resources and increase overall awareness, visibility and reputation, as well as engagement and support for COM-T.

As part of our ongoing Dean’s Office organizational restructure, Mr. Bruzzese will provide leadership for our marketing and communications functions.  He has extensive experience in this space, particularly in the hospital and healthcare setting. He has recently relocated to Tucson from Durango, Colorado where he served for 17 years as the Director of Marketing & Communications at Centura Health, Mercy Reginal Medical Center. Centura Health is the region’s largest health care network with 17 hospitals, 14 affiliate hospitals, and 21,000+ professionals. 

In this position, Ms. Singletary will lead our COM-T development team to grow philanthropy in support of our college’s core missions and top fundraising priorities.  She will work closely with COM-T department chairs and center directors and will serve on the COM-T senior leadership team.
Ms. Singletary received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. She has 12 years of successful fundraising experience and has worked in development at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, the University of Arizona, and the University of Arizona Foundation.  She comes to COM-T from her most recent role as Director of Development Principal Giving with the University of Arizona’s Alumni and Development Program.   In that role, she worked closely with the UArizona’s largest donors and top leadership to bring resources to campus. Specific to COM-T she has partnered with Drs. Andrew Weil and Victoria Maizes on fundraising efforts for the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
