Graduate Medical Education

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson currently sponsors accredited residency programs and fellowships in all major specialties and subspecialties. More than 50 programs are offered through our two Banner – University Medical Group (BUMG) locations, and our 14 major institutional partners.  

Our residents and fellows enjoy outstanding educational opportunities in a supportive environment. The College of Medicine – Tucson is nationally recognized for our award-winning faculty and innovative clinical, teaching and research programs.

More than 550 residents and fellows train at our primary teaching hospital, Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. Each of our 48 residency and fellowship programs is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The College of Medicine – Tucson is known nationally for innovative teaching, excellent clinical training, and major research programs. We are committed to providing you with the best education in a supportive work environment.

Graduate Medical Education - South Campus

The six residencies and one fellowship offered at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson South offer a diverse educational experience in a variety of medical settings, including community hospitals and tertiary care centers. Our goal is to develop primary care physicians commited to providing excellent care to the community. Our residents are also actively involved in multiple scholarly opportunities with our renowned research faculty.
