The Leadership and Innovation in Health Care Distinction Track will provide the student with a structured, yet flexible, faculty-mentored experience to explore many facets of health care education, administration, finance, delivery and policy. It will draw upon the expertise of leaders from the University of Arizona, UArizona Health Sciences and the community, including the Healthcare Transformation Institute.
This program will ensure that these future providers achieve competencies in health leadership and advocacy, and in addition to patient care, will assume critical roles as a generation of physician leaders in health care innovation.
The Leadership and Innovation in Health Care curriculum includes leadership training and objectives that align with various domains of health care and innovation, including engineering a system of care and understanding reimbursement strategies.
The Leadership and Innovation in Health Care Distinction track will be available to first-year medical students beginning in the fall semester. Applications will be reviewed and students will be selected to join the distinction track based upon merit.
