Dr. French serves as core faculty in the University Campus Emergency Medicine residency and works clinically at Banner UMC Tucson and South Campuses. His responsibilities include shifts with the EMS physician field response program and medical direction for the Southern Arizona Regional Hazmat Team and the Southern Arizona Regional Technical Rescue Team. He is a medical team manager for AZTF-1 and has deployed with urban search and rescue teams with FEMA and USAID to natural disasters both domestically and internationally. He also serves as a flight surgeon in the Arizona Air National Guard. Medical toxicology consultation services are provided through the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center.

He is an avid recreational SCUBA diver and particularly enjoys diving along the nearby Baja Peninsula and Revillagigedo Islands (Socorro).
