Dr. Wong is an Arizona native, born and raised in Flagstaff. During his fellowship, he completed the Teaching Scholars Program through the University of Washington School of Medicine Center for Leadership and Innovation in Medical Education in 2021. After fellowship training, he returned to Tucson, where he cares for patients who have kidney-related diseases, such as chronic kidney disease, nephrolithiasis, resistant hypertension, electrolyte disorders and glomerular diseases. He is the division’s specialist on Fabry disease — rare inherited disorder that affects the body’s ability to break down certain fats called glycosphingolipids and causes a buildup of fats in organs and tissues that leads to a range of symptoms and complications. In addition, he participates in the multidisciplinary kidney stone clinic in collaboration with the Department of Urology. Dr. Wong also is the medical director of both the in-center and home dialysis units for DCI Desert Dialysis – Sahuarita.
