Aneela Cox, MD

Clinical Instructor, Family and Community Medicine

I am from Buffalo, NY and couldn't have been happier to have matched at the UA Family Medicine program! Blue skies, the beaming sun, and warmth is really all one needs while in residency! My life story: I went to undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied genetics and global health. Here, I caught the travel bug and traveled to some making places: England, Germany, Uganda, and Mexico for research/work related activities. I really enjoyed working with people, and therefore decided to go to medical school. During the first week in anatomy lab, I found the love of my life and we got married in our 3rd year of med school! My husband (an intern in the internal medicine program) and I couples matched and are very happy to be working in a supportive environment in our respective programs. One of the reasons this program was very appealing to me is the integrative medicine in residency curriculum and integrative fellowship that is a part of the program. I am enjoying learning to think outside the box when it comes to dealing with medical management. My other interest in medicine include: global health, working with the underserved population, and refugee medicine. I feel that I am getting comprehensive training here.
