Executive Assistant

Claudia Duran, MLS, takes great pride in her work at the University of Arizona. With a background in finance, she has been a contributor to UArizona for nearly a decade. She is currently employed as Indigenous Affairs Coordinator in the Global MD.

In her spare time, Claudia volunteers as a member of Patient Family Advisory Committee (PFAC), to improve patient care for Banner University Medicine-Tucson patients and families. Claudia was previously the Chair of the Native American Education Advisory Committee for the Tucson Unified School District. She worked to raise money via a grant award that supports graduating seniors and clubs such as the Tribal Images Youth Council (TIYC). The TIYC (@TribalImagesYC) is a club for Native American middle and high school students within TUSD that focuses on heritage/culture, healthy lifestyles, environment and community service.

Claudia is working on her Doctor of Philosophy degree for which her dissertation will examine underserved populations, and potentially healthcare disparities, as related to the Native American community in Southern Arizona.
