D. Alexander Perry, MD, MPH

Assistant Clinical Professor, Medicine
Director of Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT)

Dr. Perry walked into medical school with the intention to become an infectious disease physician. Born and raised in Arizona, his training took him across the U.S. His primary research in fellowship was on C. difficile infections, but he did work on hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial stewardship. Dr. Perry has a cat who has been with him since the start of medical school and has grown accustomed to traveling cross-country in a carrier, but is happy this no longer occurs. When not dealing with infections, he can usually be found watching movies, usually with subtitles or in black and white, hiking, or “improving” the recipes in his library of cookbooks. He often makes pop culture or historical references as metaphors, which are understood by a small audience, but at least allow him to chuckle.
