The Kindness Is Good Medicine initiative is an organizational commitment to creating a culture of kindness at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. Our collective goal is to transform institutional culture by improving interactions among the college’s community members.
Step 1: Research (Mid-November – mid-March)
Research Phase 1: Understanding how COM-T community members currently perceive kindness
November 17 – December 15
In collaboration with UArizona social science researchers from the Science of Kindness Community Collective, we are embarking on a “State of Kindness” inquiry to learn what “kindness” means here at the College of Medicine – Tucson. This is community-based, participatory research and we need your input!
Idea Sessions
Participate in a facilitated Idea Generation Session in which small groups will discuss the meaning of “kindness” at COM-T.

In addition to participating in the research, we need COM-T stakeholder researchers who will work collaboratively with the UArizona researchers throughout the process.
Stakeholder Researchers
Help recruit a diverse cohort of research participants for each phase of the research to ensure that all voices are heard.
Review and provide feedback on research results throughout the process (“member checking”).
Help disseminate research results.
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours of work over the course of the research phase (most of this work will be done asynchronously online).
