My Journey with the BSM Program:

As an incoming pre-medical student, I was drawn to the BSM major for its alignment with my values as an aspiring physician and the unique opportunities it provides as a new program at the University of Arizona. Now, halfway through my undergraduate career, I can confidently say the BSM program has truly shaped my college experience in the most meaningful way. This program has allowed me to genuinely connect with faculty, advisers and peers — creating an environment where I’ve found both mentors and lifelong friends. I have deeply engaged with the curriculum, which emphasizes the holistic development of health care professionals while also providing me with a strong academic foundation for medical school. The support I’ve received through the BSM program empowered me to found an undergraduate shadowing program with the College of Medicine – Tucson’s Commitment to Underserved People (CUP) Clinics. This has been an invaluable leadership experienced that has further reinforced my commitment to pursuing a career in medicine. Ultimately, the BSM program has provided an enriching environment that fosters both intellectual and professional development, and I wholeheartedly believe it is preparing me for the next steps in my journey toward becoming a physician.

Academic & Career Goals:

After graduation, I plan to apply to medical school to pursue my MD, with the ultimate goal of specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. I am deeply passionate about patient advocacy in women’s health and aspire to contribute to both clinical care and research as a practicing physician.
