Domingo L. Maynes, III, MD

Associate Clinical Professor, Medicine

Dr. Maynes has held several critical positions in the palliative care community, which includes serving as an associate medical director for Hospice of The Valley, Arizona Palliative Home Care; staff geriatrician at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California; associate medical director at the Elizabeth Hospice in Escondido, California; and medical director of CHI Health Palliative Medicine from 2014-2016. He then moved to Phoenix, where he was the medical director of palliative medicine with Banner – University Medical Center with the University of Arizona from 2017-2021 and was also the associate program director for the University of Arizona Palliative Medicine Fellowship. He recently moved from Omaha, where he served as the division chief of palliative medicine for Creighton University/CHI Health.

Dr. Maynes enjoys spending time with his wife, five children and dog. His faith and family are of utmost importance to him. He also enjoys the field of bioethics and aims to treat each patient as though they were his own family member.
