Indu Partha, MD
2023 Women In Medicine and Science Awardee
Dr. Partha did her undergrad studies in biological sciences at Stanford University in Stanford, California, and earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. Her residency training in internal medicine was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Northwestern University in Chicago. She was an assistant professor of medicine, Division of Primary Care, at Loyola University Health System in Chicago before moving to Tucson in 2004, and worked as an internist at University Medical Center (a predecessor to Banner University Medical Center Tucson) and Northwest Allied Physicians until joining the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson faculty in 2015.
Dr. Partha is now an associate program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and the director of the Primary Care Track and Ambulatory Medicine for the Department of Medicine at the college and Banner UMC Tucson. She also is a steering committee member and social media liaison for Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) at the UArizona College of Medicine Tucson. She is an active member of several committees at the college and is the vice chair of the college's chapter of the Academy of Medical Education Scholars.
In addition, she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Governor's Council of the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Physicians. She served as an alumni board member for the UC-San Diego School of Medicine (2002-06).
