Juan Chipollini, MD, FACS

Associate Professor

Dr. Chipollini is a urologic oncologist with the Department of Urology at the University of Arizona. He joins the department from Tampa, Florida, where he recently completed a 2-year Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute's Department of Genitourinary Oncology.

Prior to fellowship, Dr. Chippolini completed his residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Prior to that, he obtained his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Arkansas and graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with his MD. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

In addition to his experience in patient care, Dr. Chippolini is highly active in research. He has presented at multiple national meetings and authored many book chapters and peer-reviewed publications. Most recently, he contributed a book chapter titled Disease in Penile Cancer. Urologic Oncology? in Advanced and Recurrent Disease, published in October 2016. Dr. Chippollini's main research interests include improving perioperative and oncologic outcomes of patients after surgery and novel therapies for advanced bladder and penile cancer patients. He was also recently appointed to serve on the American Urological Association Core Curriculum update on penile neoplasms.

Dr. Chippolini is fluent in Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and participating in medical missions.
