Kathy W. Smith, MD

Dr. Smith joined the Department of Psychiatry's faculty in 2006. She has specialized training in the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood disorders and in working with transgender and gender nonconforming youth.

Dr. Smith provides clinical care and supervises medical students, residents and fellows at Banner – University Medical Center and the Crisis Response Center. She is a member of the Association of Medical Education Scholars and is involved in educational research and faculty development in both undergraduate and graduate medical education.
