Michael Avery

Dr. Avery is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona who specializes in both vascular neurosurgery and tumors of the brain, pituitary gland, and skull base. His philosophy is to treat these conditions using state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. Surgery is often performed through keyhole? approaches that result in significantly smaller incisions. Dr. Avery also uses endoscopes to treat a variety of skull base conditions through the nasal cavity, thereby avoiding an incision altogether. For neurovascular conditions, such as aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), Dr. Avery often utilizes minimally invasive endovascular techniques, which again avoids the need for an incision.
