Perotti is a neurosurgery nurse practitioner and a nationally and state-registered certified emergency paramedic since 1997. She has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and served 15 years as an air medical rescue helicopter flight nurse. She was deployed as the strike team leader on multiple FEMA national disaster and mass casualty responses. She also served as a vice president of the largest emergency medical helicopter transport operator in the United States. She is licensed as a National Registry Certified Medical Examiner by the United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. She is also certified by the Association of Air Medical Services as a Certified Transport Executive).

She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer appointed Perotti to the Arizona Emergency Medical Services Council and she continues to serve the state in this appointed government position. She is also very involved in community nonprofit service as the immediate past president of the board of directors of the Rialto Theater Foundation and serves on the board of trustees of the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation. She serves as executive director of the Southeastern Emergency Medical Services Council, which focuses its attention on the provision of emergency medical services in seven Arizona counties. She also owns and operates two private medical practices.
