Visiting Scholar

Tina M. Buehner, PhD, MS, CNMT, NMTCB(CT)(RS), RT(N)(CT), FSNMMI-TS, is a Visiting Scholar and contributor to the Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics Division at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine – Tucson Department of Medical Imaging.  

With over 20 years of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist, Dr. Buehner is the Director of Clinical Affairs at Cyclomedica USA. She has served as health physicist specialist at Rush University and previously worked as the manager of nuclear medicine/nuclear cardiology at Loyola University Health System’s Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois. Prior to her work at Loyola, Dr. Buehner worked as a staff technologist and clinical educator at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Upon completing a doctoral program in health science at Rush University, Dr. Buehner earned her PhD with the dissertation titled, “The Use of a Novel Amino Acid Toward Improving the Diagnosis of Gynecologic Cancers.” Prior to that, Dr. Buehner completed her bachelor’s degree in health arts and went on to earn a master’s degree in health services administration at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.

Dr. Buehner holds professional board certifications from the NMTCB in nuclear medicine technology, computed tomography, and radiation safety and from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in nuclear medicine and computed tomography.
