This policy helps clerkship leadership maintain and improve the quality of clerkships and assists the Tucson Educational Policy Committee (TEPC) in fulfilling its responsibility to provide oversight of the medical education program.
Although rarely granted, students who wish to change their clerkship rotation site after assignments have been made may only apply for a change of site if they have an extreme hardship. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students must complete a Change of Clinical Site form and submit it to clerkship program coordinator

This policy establishes guidelines and procedures for attendance and absences for mandatory in-person sessions and clinical activities in the Preclerkship Phase, all clerkship experiences in the Clerkship Phase, and all activities identified for a course in the Transition to Residency Phase.
This form is required for students enrolling in independent study (899) and research (800) electives. It applies primarily to fourth-year MD students, and to some third-year students as well.
