Researchers identify biomarker to guide autophagy-targeted therapy in kidney cancer

A U of A Cancer Center team led by the Division of Hematology & Oncology’s Drs. Steffan Nawrocki and Jennifer Carew identified a novel biomarker to predict which patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma may best benefit from a targeted combination therapy involving autophagy inhibition.

Czarina and Humberto Lopez gift will fund Sarver Heart Center research endowment

A $3 million gift will establish the Czarina and Humberto Lopez Cardiovascular Research Endowment at the U of A Sarver Heart Center. The commitment is part of a $75 million fundraising goal for a cardiovascular research institute, pending ABOR approval.
