Department of Medicine
Endocrinology
Research
Our researchers focus on diabetes, metabolic and endocrine-related projects, studying aspects like mitochondrial bioenergetics in Type 2 diabetes and pulmonary hypertension, epigenetics of insulin resistance, bone metastasis, adipose tissue disorders, glucagon action, and insulin-stimulated GLUT4 trafficking and glucose uptake.
Education
We train medical students, residents and fellows in the medical science, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the endocrine system and its related conditions. The most common concern endocrinologists encounter is diabetes and all its complications, which include heart disease, kidney disease, retinopathy leading to vision impairment, and limb pain.
