Celebrating outreach, mentorship, education, patient care and research, the awards were divvied up by eight divisions with the most going to the General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine and Cardiology divisions.

The first-time awards honor coordinators, GI’s Maria Longoria, IM Residency’s Yuvia Anaya, and Infectious Diseases’ Richelle Clemente, as well as two managers, Pulmonary’s Helen Hill and IM Residency’s Mary Gosciminski.

Three U of A Department of Medicine staff — Terri Buchanan, Christeana Castro and Bersabe Lopez — are among 16 people up for the Lura Hanekamp Dedicated Staff Award of Excellence. Register to attend the June 25 ceremony.
