Research

Our scientists are conducting a wide array of clinical studies to find new and better ways to treat children, with a research focus on autism and other special needs. The division has grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, Arizona Department of Health Services, Arizona Biomedical Research Commission, Administration on Developmental Disabilities and more.

Education

The division is dedicated to offering diverse training opportunities that focus on decreasing barriers to care, cultural awareness, early identification, children and families at risk, and community collaborations. Educational opportunities are primarily based in Tucson, but we have outreach opportunities in border and Native communities. We are proud to serve as mentors to students pursuing research opportunities in genetics, psychology and developmental-behavioral pediatrics. Our trainees range from high school honors students through postgraduate-level professionals. We also partner with Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium, Medical Student Research Program and Q3.
