MD/PHD
The MD/PhD dual-degree program (also known as the MD/PhD Program) is an ideal solution for students planning careers in academic medicine or biomedical research, or who want to pursue formal research training to enhance their clinical skills.
Students can pursue doctoral studies in several biomedical sciences and interdisciplinary programs.
The MD/PhD program is offered jointly by the College of Medicine – Tucson and the University of Arizona Graduate College.
MD/MPH
Future physicians admitted to the MD/MPH dual-degree program acquire the knowledge and develop expertise to achieve improvements in community health and become leaders in the health care field.
In addition to their clinical training in medicine, MD/MPH students engage with public health topics, including:
- health policy
- epidemiology
- health planning
- health administration and management
- community assessment
- program evaluation
- social and behavioral sciences
- environmental and occupational health
- global health
The MD/MPH dual-degree program is offered jointly by the College of Medicine – Tucson and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
MD/O-MBA
The MD/O-MBA dual-degree program is a unique opportunity for students to combine their interests in medicine and business. Students can attend the College of Medicine – Tucson as well as Eller College of Management. This dual degree is currently being redesigned to launch in the next academic year.
Whether you plan to build a clinical practice or take on a leadership role in hospital administration, this program will give you the skills you need to be successful while still obtaining your MD in four years.
An O-MBA will enhance your clinical skills with administrative expertise in:
- Leadership
- Organizational structure
- Negotiation
- Decision making
- Finance and accounting
- Operations management
- Innovation
- Data management
- Presentation skills
