Internal Medicine Research Academic Half Day 2026

Come support the University of Arizona Internal Medicine Residency Program – Tucson resident physicians (as well as fellows) taking part in the annual research poster and oral presentations contest, which is a big highlight for the spring semester for the Department of Medicine.

Light snacks and refreshments will be available.

The projected ITINERARY for the day is as follows:

• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. - Poster set up in the HSIB Forum.
• 1-2 p.m. - Food and beverages served and posters available for viewing.
• 2-3 p.m. - Formal poster presentations to judges.
• 3-3:30 p.m. - Poster evaluation sheets tabulated and award winners decided (IM staff and leadership to tally).
• 3-3:45 p.m. - Oral presentations competition (for presentations accepted to regional and national conferences).
• 3:45-4 p.m. - Closing remarks with award winners announced.

1. Best Case Report/Series
2. Best Original Research Study
3. Best Quality Improvement Study
4. Rising Researcher (PGY-1 primary author)
5. Senior Scientist (PYG2/3 primary author)
6. Best Oral Presentation
