  • Interpret differences in belief systems across groups (e.g., medical specialties) through a psychological lens.
  • Explain why individuals may become more entrenched in beliefs when presented with contradictory evidence.
  • Describe how psychodynamic defense mechanisms influence political belief formation.
  • Apply concepts such as motivated reasoning, projection and cognitive dissonance to real-world belief systems.
  • Utilize psychodynamic principles to approach rigid or identity-linked beliefs in clinical and interpersonal settings.
