The U of A Mobile Health Program is celebrating 50 years of service to medically underserved patients in southern Arizona.

Fresh air and exercise are good for your body and mind. But seasonal allergies can make a jog or walk outside — with sneezing, itchy eyes and irritated breathing — uncomfortable. Department of Medicine allergist Nora Odisho Domit, DO, has good news to survive the pollen.

Fourth-year University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson students tore open envelopes to learn where they’ll launch their careers as new physicians.

That’s how many Class of 2026 medical students graduating this spring across the country, as well as one each from Colombia and Greece, picked the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson’s IM Residency Program to start their careers as physicians.

A generous $1 million gift established an endowed fund and the John F. and Valli S. Duval Endowed Professorship for Gastrointestinal Oncology.

The festivities were famously upbeat as usual as the College of Medicine – Tucson honored its own with excellence, teaching and mentoring awards. A dozen DOM faculty were among the winners. See who won, a mini-photo gallery and more.

Next week, more than 100 medical students from the College of Medicine – Tucson will learn where they will pursue the next phase of their medical training.

Abdominal transplant faculty from the Department of Surgery have successfully completed Tucson’s first robotic-assisted living donor nephrectomy at Banner – University Medicine Tucson.

The Banner – University Medical Center Tucson procedure, involving a 34-year-old woman and her sister, was led by surgeon Ramesh Batra, MD, Division of Abdominal Surgery chief, and nephrologist Venki Ariyamuthu, MD, kidney and pancreas transplant medical director.
