In honor of National Doctors’ Day 2026, physicians across Banner – University Medicine Tucson were treated March 30 to breakfast, lunch and dinner, honoring their commitment to clinical care and their patients. See a mini-photo gallery of DOM faculty there.

That’s how many Class of 2026 medical students graduating this spring across the country, as well as one each from Colombia and Greece, picked the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson’s IM Residency Program to start their careers as physicians.

A generous $1 million gift established an endowed fund and the John F. and Valli S. Duval Endowed Professorship for Gastrointestinal Oncology.

The festivities were famously upbeat as usual as the College of Medicine – Tucson honored its own with excellence, teaching and mentoring awards. A dozen DOM faculty were among the winners. See who won, a mini-photo gallery and more.

Next week, more than 100 medical students from the College of Medicine – Tucson will learn where they will pursue the next phase of their medical training.
