Alousius Fombang, MD

Hey y’all! My name is Alousius Fombang, and I am a categorical resident here at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. I was born and raised in Houston, TX, did undergrad at UT Austin and returned to do medical school at UTHealth McGovern Health Medical School. My hobbies include basketball (both watching and playing), following other major sports leagues, art and playing video games with my friends. This is my first time living outside of Texas, so when I was looking at residency programs I was very selective in what non-Texas programs I applied to. The U of A College of Medicine – Tucson was one of the very few on my list because I loved the prospect of training at an academic center that casts such a wide catch net for patients from all across not just Arizona but the entire American Southwest. The glowing reviews from current residents on the culture and fostered sense of community in the IM program was just the cherry on top! Be on the lookout for my twin brother, who is a resident in the Psychiatry program here! We’re as identical as twins can get so it can be hard to tell us apart, so if you can’t tell who is who just know we’d never hold it against you for asking!
