My Journey with the Medicine Program

I originally started my undergraduate journey as a physiology and medical sciences major. When I learned that a new major was available for pre-med students I looked into it and realized that it was a better fit for me and my learning path. I changed my major as a junior and I have loved my experiences so far. The reason I love this major is that there is more diversity within the emphasis and more freedom within the classes, which was something that I was looking for. This major has allowed me to focus on the human side of medicine and I believe that it has been the best decision for me to have switched!

Academic & Career Goals

In my senior year, I am applying to Teach for America and hope to teach in an underprivileged area for two years after graduation. In those two years, I would like to get my master’s in nutrition and also take the MCAT. I plan on taking a route through the Navy for medical school with the ultimate goal of being a dermatologist specializing in skin cancer.

Ask Me About

I have studied abroad and plan on doing it again before I graduate. I had an amazing time, and I would highly recommend it. I would love to help other students figure out how to do it and talk through different options!
