In medical school, Dr. Nerland participated in the Frontier and Rural Medicine Program, which included a year of clinical rotations focusing on full-spectrum, community-based rural medicine. In his free time, his personal interests include physical fitness, experimenting with bread-baking and cooking, camping and exploring the outdoors, watching football, and spending time with his wife.
