Anna Hill, DO

Resident

Where are you from?

Seattle, Washington. I was adopted as an infant from China. I have lived all around the world with my parents, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Every summer we would stay in Seattle with my grandparents and that is where I developed my love for the Pacific Northwest.

Why did you choose U of A family medicine?
I chose U of A family medicine because of its strong, full-spectrum training, the supportive resident culture and its dedication to serving diverse communities. During my interview and second look, I was struck by how welcoming and genuinely happy the residents were. I was looking for a program that would challenge me clinically while also providing a supportive environment to grow, and the U of A felt like the perfect fit. I am excited to train in a program that values comprehensive care, community engagement and the broad scope that drew me to family medicine in the first place.

What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
Riding my bike and swimming. I grew up swimming competitively, and I love outdoor pools.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?
I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, cooking, hiking, swimming, and spending time with my husband and our yellow lab, Zala.

What are your professional interests within medicine?
I love family medicine because my favorite patients are the mamas and the babies. I would like to pursue a fellowship in either surgical obstetrics or a women’s health fellowship.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
Swimming in the morning, having coffee on my porch and having no plans.

What is the top item on your bucket list?

Ski in Portillo, Chile.
