Cassandra J. Rasmussen, PsyD

Assistant Professor, Psychiatry (Clinical Scholar Track)

Dr. Cassandra Rasmussen, PsyD, is a psychologist at Banner Medical Group who helps patients 16 years and older understand how their mental and emotional states affect various aspects of their lives.

She aims to act as a guide to her patients using evidence-based practices and current research. She said she believes that patients very often hold the answers; sometimes they simply need help finding them. Dr. Rasmussen gently challenges her patients to dig deeper while reassuring them they are psychologically safe in the moment and, most importantly, not alone.

Dr. Rasmussen chose to pursue psychology because, regardless of life's outcomes, our mental/emotional/spiritual life dictates our perception. Individuals' perceptions alter the way they interact with the world, in relationships and with themselves. She works to teach patients how to become more self-aware to make the changes necessary to support their goals. Dr. Rasmussen is dedicated to helping others maximize their potential, heal and create their dream lives. She works with her patients to address the why and solve problems together.

When not seeing patients, she enjoys reading, hiking, looking for adventures and rooting for her husband's football team with their two sons.
