David Neal MD, FACS, is an associate professor of surgery with the University of Arizona Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery. Dr. Neal specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgeries including appendectomies, cholecystectomies (gallbladder removal), colectomies, hernia surgery, and Nissen fundoplication. He also has an interest in thyroidectomy, hemorrhoidectomy, breast biopsy, mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and other oncology procedures.

Dr. Neal comes to Banner University Medical Center with close to thirty years of success in private practice. He grew up in southern California, and after graduating in the top of his class from UCLA School of Medicine, he came to Tucson to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Arizona. He is a member of several surgical organizations, including the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Neal served as the president of Palo Verde Surgical Associates and the chief of general surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital.
