Pizano is a PhD candidate in Medical/Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Starting with a research interest in eating disorders, Pizano's clinical and research skills have evolved to include disordered eating, behavioral weight management and lifestyle interventions. Clinically, she considers herself a generalist who has worked across the lifespan, serving patients with a variety of medical and clinical presentations by proving assessments and evidence-based practices. 

She has assisted patients with behavioral health services, including cardio-pulmonary lifestyle changes, palliative care, functional neurological disorder, behavioral sleep medicine and weight management, as well as patients experiencing substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and transplant and bariatric pre-surgery evaluations. In her free time, Pizano enjoys crafting, painting, hiking and traveling to various state and national parks.
