My Journey with the Medicine Program

I always knew I wanted a career in healthcare, but I wasn’t sure which path was the right fit for me. I explored physiology, nursing, and medicine before ultimately deciding on the medicine major. Once I learned more about the pre-med pathway the Medicine program offers, I knew it was the perfect choice.

What I love most about this major is the balance between rigorous prerequisites and unique opportunities to explore integrative medicine through hands-on, informative electives. In the fall of my sophomore year, I began precepting some introductory medical courses, which not only deepened my knowledge but also gave me the chance to help others. It has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made during my time at the University of Arizona.
 

Academic & Career Goals

After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend physician assistant (PA) school. Along the way, I will continue working as a CNA to gain more hands-on patient care experience. I am excited to continue expanding my knowledge of medicine and to dedicate my career to improving patient care.
